CHARLTON MACKRELL SCHOOL COUNCIL

"We are members of the School Council.  It is our job to be the pupil voice.  We ask our classes how the school could be improved and put forward ideas.  Last year the school council asked for a therapy dog and we got Daisy.  We have also looked at the library and reading.  Making playtimes better has been another area where we have helped.  With the help of Mrs Shields, we put forward ideas and work out ways of making our school a better place."

This year the School Council have held a dance-a-thon and raised over £1300 for the charity Bags for School.  The children packed 65 bags, which are being sent to pupils in poverty around the world.  Our first bags have arrived in Belarus.

The team have also organised fund raising for Children in Need and Save the Children with a Christmas Jumper Day.
