PE and Sports Grant
SPORTS AT CHARLTON MACKRELL SCHOOL
The aim of the Government’s PE & Sports premium is to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils. Schools must spend the funding to improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils. Schools receiving PE and sports premium funding must publish details of the way in which PE and sports premium funding is spent.
At Charlton Mackrell C of E Primary School, we ensure that teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all pupils. However, we acknowledge our responsibility for providing high-quality learning for all children and we are committed to meeting their pastoral, social and academic needs in order to enable them to become the best they can be in sport. Sport Premium funding is vital to this process and we approach it through the following principles:
- ensuring that ‘Quality First’ teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all the pupils;
- ensuring that appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups, including ensuring the needs of pupils are adequately assessed and addressed;
- allocating the funding to support any pupil or groups of pupils the school has legitimately identified;
- ensuring the progress of pupils is monitored and reviewed as part of the school’s assessment cycle.
